Birdathon

April Birdathon Approaching

The time for our annual spring fundraiser is here. The YAS Birdathon
will take place around the weekend of April 25–27, 2008. The
Birdathon involves getting sponsors to support your one-day (or
partial day) effort to see as many species of birds as possible
within the confines of Yolo County. However, if you would like to do
a Birdathon while you are taking a birding trip to another part of
California, another state or another country, so much the better. The
exact date or location of your Birdathon is not important, the most
important thing is to raise money for the chapter and have fun while
you do it!

You may participate for any length of time that will fit with your
schedule. There is also no limit to the number of people that can
participate on each team. We encourage people of all skill levels to
join us for this special event!

You can sign sponsors up to pledge a certain amount per species or
they can pledge a flat amount. Alternatively, your sponsors might
also be interested in pledging to the “Composite Team,” which is the
cumulative total of species seen by all groups that participate in
the Birdathon. Corporate sponsorships are encouraged (all donations
are tax-deductible) and all corporate sponsors will be acknowledged
in the newsletter and on the YAS website.

Please join us for a fun-filled day of birding or sponsor a team if
you aren’t able to get out in the field yourself!

Please contact Kevin Gusé by phone (916-457-9175) or email
(harpy12@comcast.net) for packets and more details. Birdathon
materials may be downloaded from the links below. Please let Kevin know if you plan to participate.

What could be better than to have fun birding and contribute to a
worthy cause at the same time? Thanks in advance for your support!
