    Field Trip

  • Date: 11/03/2007
  • Time: 07:30:00 AM
  • This trip will go to Lake Solano where Yolo County borders Solano County, to check birds during the transition time of late fall and early winter.  These may include residents such as Osprey, Phainopepla, Wood Duck and Acorn Woodpeckers and expected wintering species Goldeneye, Mergansers and Bufflehead.  There could be some surprises like Pileated Woodpecker, Red-breasted Sapsucker and Golden Eagle.

Meet at the Park and Ride lot off Mace Road (NE of Hwy 80; behind Ikeda’s) at 7:30 AM. All levels of birders are welcome.  Bring water, snacks and binoculars.  A $5.00 fee per car will be needed for parking.

We’ll plan on getting back to Davis about 1:00.

Trip leader is Sami LaRocca, (530) 908-0288 (cell)

NOTE: High winds or a significant rainstorm cancels this trip.
