Babel Slough
Field Trip
Babel Slough on the eastern edge of Yolo County is a remnant of the riparian habitat that was once extensive in the Central Valley. We will walk about a mile along the rural county road that crowns the levee beside the slough while searching for the last of the songbirds that migrate through our area and some of the early wintering birds.
Meet at 7:30 am at the intersection of South River Road and Babel Slough Road (park on the east side of South River Road). The walking is easy, but you might like to have good walking shoes, a little water, a snack, and insect repellent. Don’t forget your binoculars. Contact leader Roger Adamson for details, (530) 753-3338.
