    Birding Yolo Farmlands

    Field Trip

  • Date: 10/17/2010
  • Time: 07:45:00 AM
  • We’re going to sample some of the rural roads of Yolo County and see what a rich bird heritage we have with our open spaces and agricultural practices. We’ll see the effects of different crops and management practices, and the effects of “edges” on species richness. Birds will be in transition of seasons, we may see lingering summer species and early winter birds such as Ferruginous Hawks.

No need for a super-early start, so let’s meet at the Park and Ride near Mace and I-80 at 7:45 AM. Bring your binoculars, clothing in layers for cold-to-warm transition, and snacky food and water as needed. We’ll be back by mid-afternoon.

For any questions call leader, Mary Schiedt, (530) 400-7094.
