    Point Reyes

    Field Trip

  • Date: 09/19/2010
  • Time: 06:30:00 AM
  • Please come join us for our annual fall field trip to Pt. Reyes. Fall migration at Pt. Reyes is near its peak at this time of year. Some years the numbers and diversity of warblers, vireos, flycatchers and other passerines passing through the “Outer Point” are awe-inspiring! In addition to the songbirds, there are usually plenty of raptors, waders, shorebirds, gulls and terns to be seen.

We will meet at 6:30 AM in the Park and Ride lot off of Mace Boulevard Northeast of Highway 80; behind Ikeda’s) in Davis. Bring a lunch and drinks and dress in layers. Be prepared for a full day of
birding. Rain cancels this trip. Contact Kevin Guse at (916) 514-0685, for more details.

When tide is out the Black Oystercatchers can be found foraging in the sandy bay. 10-2-10 Sami LaRocca
