Burrowing owl

    Lake Solano

    Field Trip

  • Date: 05/23/2010
  • Time: 07:30:00 AM
  • Please join this trip to see a variety of birds from oak woodland and lake habitats.  Late spring is a good time to search for the last of the breeding birds such as Wood Duck, Tree Swallow and Bushtit.  Also time to greet summer residents: woodpeckers, passerines, ducks and hawks that remain after the winter migrants depart.
This gem of a park requires $5 a vehicle for parking.  Dress appropriately for weather, bring binoculars (spotting scope would be helpful), sturdy walking shoes, and snacks.

Meet at 7:30am in parking area near Big 5 at the Market Place Shopping Center on West Covell Blvd. Davis.  High winds/rain cancels trip.

Trip leader is Sharon Kirkpatrick, 530-758-9143 or sleclark@ucdavis.edu.
