YAS Birdathon
Field Trip
Our annual spring fundraiser, the Birdathon, will take place on or around the weekend of April 24th and April 25th. The Birdathon involves getting sponsors to support your one day (or partial day) effort to see as many different kinds of birds as possible.
You can participate for any length of time for which you feel comfortable. You can even do your birdathon on the weekend before or after the “official weekend” if that would work
better for your schedule. There is no limit to the number of people that can participate on each team and we encourage people of all skill levels to join in the fun on this special day!
You can sign sponsors up to pledge a certain amount per bird species observed or they can pledge a flat amount. Your sponsors might also be interested in pledging the Composite Team (the combined total of species seen by all groups that participate in the Birdathon). Corporate sponsorships are encouraged (all donations are tax-deductible!) and all corporate sponsors will be acknowledged in the newsletter and on the YAS website. Proceeds will go towards our education and conservation programs and to help defray costs of the Yolo County Breeding Bird Atlas.
