    Yolo Farmlands

    Field Trip

  • Date: 02/13/2010
  • Time: 08:00:00 AM
  • This local field trip will focus on birds found on Yolo County farmlands and remnant patches of grasslands, riparian habitats, and oak woodlands. We will be looking for wintering birds, including waterfowl, shorebirds, raptors, and songbirds. The terrain is gentle with most of the birding done from the roadside and short walks. Expect to be back around 2:30 PM. Bring binoculars, spotting scopes if you have one, sack lunch, and drinks. We will meet at the Park-N-Ride Lot on County Road 32-A, behind (east) of the Ikeda Market in far east Davis (off of Mace Blvd) at 8:00 AM for carpooling. Contact Ed Whisler at 916-204-0471 (or edwhisler530@comcast.net) for more information.
