From Black Gold to the Black Oystercatcher: Challenges and Opportunities in
    Alaska

Our February meeting will be an Alaskan treat, brought to us by Taldi Walter,
who works for all of US via National Audubon Society. She’s the Alaska Outreach
Coordinator in the NAS Public Policy Office. Sound boring?? Read on…Her
slideshow will feature important natural areas and wonderful birds. We’ll learn
more than we now know about challenges and opportunities facing the Arctic
National Wildlife Refuge, Tongass National Forest , Chugach National Forest and
the National Petroleum Reserve – Alaska. Expect facts and figures, but also lots
    of beauty!

Our February meeting will be on Wednesday the 20th at the Veterans Memorial Club
Room. We begin at 7:30 PM, but come early for cookies and conversation. Bring a
    friend or two…you’re all welcome.
