Gray Lodge and Colusa Wildlife Areas

    Field Trip

  • Date: 01/29/2008
  • Time: 07:00:00 AM
  • Come join Sami LaRocca on a Tuesday winter morning to see these two similar wetland habitats. If you haven’t been to Gray Lodge during the winter months this is just the place to go to see numerous species of ducks as well as Snow Geese. These attract Bald Eagles and other raptors. This is a long car loop with good opportunities for walking.  At the Colusa Wildlife Area, which is a smaller refuge, we may see some species such as Eurasian Widgeon we may have missed earlier.

Meeting time is 7:00am at the Park and Ride lot off Mace Road (NE of Hwy 80; behind Ikeda’s).  All levels of birders are welcome.  Bring water, lunch and binoculars.  A $4.00 fee per person will be needed.

For more information contact Sami LaRocca, (530) 908-0288 (cell). NOTE: High winds or a significant rainstorm cancels this trip.
